FADO

Fado is a musical style that emerged in the early 19th century in Lisbon, and is believed to have originated in the "taverns" of the neighborhoods of Alfama and Bairro Alto, most frequented by sailors and prostitutes. Severa, the first Fado singer to become famous, was considered a prostitute. In popular belief, Fado is a musical style that sings the lives of the poor with a melancholy feeling.
